The Chapters was once the site of an old warehouse owned by the developers’ father, journalist and book dealer Glenn Haszard. Here he housed his vast collection of rare and valuable books. When he passed away in 2021 he left the Burke St address to his sons, Christchurch-born and raised Toosharn and Arjun Haszard.

For the large, city-fringe site, the brothers have conceived a collection of boutique homes that signal a new era in urban living, inviting owner-occupiers and tenants to enjoy the revived Christchurch CBD from the doorstep of their modern, well-considered home.

“We grew up in nearby Addington and we love this part of Christchurch. We want to contribute homes that have easy access to an urban lifestyle of cafes and restaurants, shopping malls and supermarkets and, of course, Christchurch’s beautiful green spaces.”
